I live on Cape Cod, home to Cape Cod Potato Chips, good fish, and cranberries. But like any brilliant economy, Cape Cod seems to have shipped out all of its most cherished goods. I went searching for cranberries today, and couldn’t find them. Now, we’re not talking about an unfreezable commodity here, cranberries keep quite nicely frozen. I just found it ironic that I had to spend an hour on the phone and the computer searching for something that’s grown so close by. I found them at Whole Foods in Cambridge, and a friend was gracious enough to ferry them down to the Cape for me. Sigh.
